Let’s face it, it’s not easy to be a believer. In fact, Jesus told us it wouldn’t be easy. Putting all of our trust and hope in God can be tough, especially when it seems like everything is going wrong. So, when you find yourself in the midst of a trial, take a look at God’s Word. It will help you stay focused on His goodness and greater plan for your life. You’ll find the perfect answer—faith. There are countless Bible verses on faith and the importance of trusting and hoping in God. We hope you will prayerfully consider reading the Bible verses listed below. We pray that the Scriptures on faith will strengthen and encourage you and ultimately bring you closer to God.

How important is faith?

It takes faith to even believe in Christ; it takes faith to believe that what God says is always right and true, and it takes faith to trust and walk in that each and every day. However, if you’re faith doesn’t continue to grow in your relationship with Christ, you won’t have the faith to see God’s Kingdom come not only in your life but in the lives of those around you.

Whatever faith you have inside of you will determine the outcome of the faith level you’ll have for God at work around you. If you don’t have faith for God to move, there’s a good chance you won’t be looking for anything to take place.

Do you realize that the message of your life; what you spend your time, money and energy on will scream how much faith [belief] you have put in Christ?

What does the Bible say about faith?

Question: "What does the Bible say about faith?"

Answer:
Hebrews 11:1 tells us that faith is “being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” Perhaps no other component of the Christian life is more important than faith. We cannot purchase it, sell it or give it to our friends. So what is faith and what role does faith play in the Christian life? The dictionary defines faith as “belief in, devotion to, or trust in somebody or something, especially without logical proof.” It also defines faith as “belief in and devotion to God.” The Bible has much more to say about faith and how important it is. In fact, it is so important that, without faith, we have no place with God, and it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6). According to the Bible, faith is the belief in the one, true God without actually seeing Him.

What is faith? A New Testament example

An example of this definition is found in Matthew 9:27-30 where two blind men came to Jesus and asked Him to heal them. Jesus first asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” and their reply was, “Yes, Lord.” “Then He touched their eyes saying, ‘According to your faith let it be to you.’ And their eyes were opened.”

Their faith and assurance that Jesus could give them sight was the substance or reality they hoped for. It also gave them the evidence or trust that they would receive what they asked for. They believed; that is, they had faith in advance that it would be done.

To summarize, faith is trust, assurance, and confidence in God and Jesus Christ. Living faith is not just believing that God exists. It is demonstrated by one’s service and obedience to God. God will increase our faith if we fervently ask Him for it and seek to draw closer to Him in prayer and the reading of His Word.
